2016 F16 Catamaran Worlds - After the great conditions of a week ago the fleet were confronted on Day 1 with very hot and humid conditions and little wind, nevertheless the fleet were sent out but quickly returned under the postponement flag. Finally late afternoon the first race got underway in five – seven knots of breeze and a rushing outgoing tide.
Three races we accounted for by the end of the day, the three AUS teams had mixed results Brett Goodall/ Crista van Helden had a reasonable start to the regatta with a fourteen, five and DNF which has a story with it!
Tayla Rietman/Gavin Rietman were consistent with 17, 18, 19 with Young Jack Challands/Harrison Rietman just behind they also tried to tame the current at a course mark
This year’s fleet is of a very high standard with many youth teams who will be looking at the upcoming Youth World's in Auckland on the Nacra 15 some also to campaign for Tokyo 2020.
