At the 2013-14 Clipper Round the World Yacht Race, after a night of close racing, the 12 strong fleet of matched racing yachts competing continue its battle through the unsettled conditions of the Doldrums.
Great Britain maintained its lead overnight and in the last hour Mission Performance has overtaken the UK entry with only a few miles separating the two competitors, showing that this race really is anyone's for the taking.
In the last 24 hours Henri Lloyd has managed to claw its way back into third place, as the juggling act at the top of the leader board continues.
Sean McCarter, skipper of Derry~Londondery~Doire who is now in fourth place after leading the fleet for more than a week during Race two, said:
'The top half of the fleet has been playing 'Snakes and Ladders' while the bottom half has been constantly chipping away at the leaders’ miles. Second, third and fourth have been shared around by ourselves, Mission Performance and Henri Lloyd, sometimes with as little as 0.1 of a mile separating the positions. Incredible!'
