Chicago Yacht Club will make its debut on the match racing regatta circuit this weekend with the Chicago Summer Invitational Grade three. This weekend's Grade three is a qualifier for five events later this season, which include two Grade two's: the Chicago Grand Slam and Detroit Cup Grand Slam, the Open and Women's US Sailing Match Racing Championships, and the Richardson Trophy. This regatta will also serve as the Lake Michigan Sail Racing Federation Lake MI Match Racing Championship.
Racing starts today at Chicago Yacht Club's Belmont Station at 10:00 a.m. CDT. Teams will sail in Chicago Yacht Club's fleet of recently purchased Sonars. The skipper list includes: Nicole Breault, CA; Don Wilson, IL; Mark Davies, IL; Connor Miller, GBR; Marc Hollerbach, MI; Peter Holz, NY; Matthew Hughes, NZL: Steve Lowery, IL; David Storrs, CT; and Landon Gardner, CAN.
