Tripp Tease is in third place in Division One of the 2013 Black Press Van Isle 360 International Yacht Race Tripp Tease
The Comox Valley entry,Tripp Tease, was in third place overall in Division One after six legs of the 10-leg race around Vancouver Island in the 2013 Black Press Van Isle 360 International Yacht Race.

Tripp Tease finished third in its 10-ship division on leg six from Telegraph Cover to Port Hardy and June 13.

'Upwind race in 12 knots,' the crew posted on its blog. 'Extremely close with the Div. One boats. Lots of tacking! Hanging well just behind White Cloud and Terremoto. Ahead of the rest of the fleet.'

Van Isle organizers said the racing (on June 13) was great. '…started out light in Telegraph, but was building all day. Most of the boats finished in a nice 12 knot (or more) breeze and sun!

'There was great racing in all the fleets. Unfortunately we had two boats retire, but both made it safely to the dock and we will see them on the start line tomorrow.

We’re all looking forward to the lay day in Winter Harbour, time to catch up on sleep!'

Race organizers note updates on the seventh leg (June 14, Port Hardy to Winter Harbour) may not be posted until Ucluelet depending on Internet access in Winter Read the full story here
