The Sydney International Boat Show's Marketing and Events Manager, Domenic Genua, spoke to us, above the noise of hammers and drills, on the eve of the 46th annual Boat Show to share some insights into the excitement surrounding this event.

Domenic was very upbeat about this year´s event, the nation’s largest recreational boating exhibition, noting some influential key speakers and great exhibits. This year´s show will feature 250 exhibitors, family-friendly entertainment, master classes and the latest innovations in the industry.

The Sydney International Boat Show has been held at the Sydney Convention and Exhibition Centre since 1989. 2013 marks the last year the event will be held in this location in the short term. The Convention Centre will undergo a billion dollar redevelopment over the next three years, with the Boat Show returning to picturesque Darling Harbour in 2017.

During the redevelopment, the indoor component of the nation’s largest recreational boating exhibition will be on show at a specially built interim facility at Glebe Island, which will be known as the Sydney Exhibition Centre. The facility will be accessible by road or ferry, located under the Anzac Bridge.

However, the always spectacular component of the Sydney International Boat Show, the specially built floating marina on Cockle Bay, remains the 'home port' for the on-water displays.
