The second Heaven Can Wait 24 hour yacht race sailed in perfect conditions on Lake Macquarie. the largest salt water lake in Australia over the Long Weekend.on Australia's largest salt water lake, Lake Macquarie.

Enjoy Greg Dickins' images from Saturday afternoon.

The annual race was conceived and promoted by Lake Macquarie resident, keen sailor and cancer survivor Shaun Lewicki as a major annual sailing event on the lake, to promote sailing, the Lake Macquarie region and to raise funds for cancer research. For sailors that can’t commit to the full 24 hour race there was a shorter ‘One Lap Dash’

Lewicki’ s own boat Heaven Can Wait has a last minute mast problem, but he hitched a ride on the Mount Gay Terra Too and was happily helming as the sun set.
