Southampton Boat Show 2015 – Lots in store in the RYA members' lounge

by Emma Slater on 4 Aug 2015 At this year’s Southampton Boat Show (11-20 September), throughout the week there will be a whole host of activities taking place in the RYA Members’ Lounge.

Situated in the Holiday Inn Hotel at the heart of the show, as well as being able to sign up or renew your RYA membership, purchase RYA publications, pick up your Gold or Instructor member pin badges or simply relax with a coffee or catch up with friends over lunch you’ll also have the chance to chat with a number of RYA Member Partner organisations who will be showcasing their products and services.

“We are delighted to welcome a number of our Member Partners to the lounge at this year’s show”, commented Conor Swift, RYA Membership Development Manager. “This is a great opportunity for them to chat with members about their boating and boating needs and for members to ask questions and pick up some top tips and useful advice.”

As well as the Member Partner organisations there will also be a number of launch events and special presentations taking place.

“In between our Member organisation visits we will also be launching the ARC Channel Islands Rally in association with RYA Active Marina and celebrating the continued support of those members who have been with us for 50 years or more in our special presentation ceremony (details to be confirmed)”, Conor added.

Alongside the daily activities and events members can also take advantage of the Refer a Friend scheme, providing friends and family with 25% discount on their first year’s membership and the referring member with not one, but two RYA bonus gifts for doing so – an OverBoard dry bag and an RYA umbrella, while RYA Instructor members renewing their membership can take advantage of the five years membership for the price of three.
