Sailing underway on day 4 in Qingdao

Sailing underway on day 4 in Qingdao and a good start for Britain's Penny Clark in the first race of the Laser Radial event, she finished second behing Evi van Acker of Belgium.

A good race for Clark who was sixth at the first mark, then moved into second by the third mark and held off a determined challenge from Gintare Volungeviciute of Lithuainia and American, Anna Tunnicliffe on the finish line.

In the first Laser race Paul Goodison was buried in mid pack for most of the race but managed to pick up some places on the final leg to finish 15th. Winner was Julio Alsogaray of Argentina, second Andrew Murdoch of New Zealand and third Matias del Solar of Chile. World Champion Tom Slingsby of Australia, finished 21st.

Christina Bassadone and Saskia Clark got the bounce back they were looking for in race three of the 470 event, finishing third in race 3, which was won by Nke Kornecki and Vered Buskila of Israel. The British pair were disqualified from the opening race on Monday.

In the Men's 470 event Nick Rogers and Joe Glanfield won race 3, the first race today. Second were Anton Dahlberg and Sebastian ostling of Sweden and third the Australian pair, Nathan Wilmot and Malcolm Page.

A better start to the second day for Nick Dempsey in the RS:X event, he finished third in the first race of the day. Winner was event leader Shahar Zubari of Israel, second King Yin Chan of Hong Kong.
