Sailing - Equipment - Main Hanks

From Frank, Wynnum: I don’t know whether this is common knowledge or not, but a passing long range German sailor who came aboard our boat for a drink one day told me to remove all the slides that attach the main to the boom and let it run free. It was amazing. It’s all much easier to handle, and it made a huge difference to the setting of sail and improved the sailing ability of the boat.
