Sail-World USA - 15 April 2009

by . on 16 Apr 2009

Welcome to Sail-World.Com's USA newsletter for 15 April 2009.

There was a flurry of mail yesterday into the various America's Cup postboxes. Some it was old, some new, some undelivered.

In this issue we have another in our Off the Record series, looking at the letters that have been sent, and anything that is new in them.

For those who enjoy the intrigue of the America's Cup, they are a good read.

For those more interested in what is going to happen next, there is the offer of a Meeting - yet to be accepted.

There's more on who is hiring boatbuilders, an intriguing re-work of America's Cup history, and the latest on the Louis Vuitton Series. www.sail-world.com/USA/Americas-Cup---Off-the-Record---15-April:-Postmans-Knock!Click_here to read it all. If only we could name the sources of some of this information - but that is the way the game is being played at this stage.

And there's the latest on Leg 6 of the Volvo Ocean Race, as they head for the gate off Fernando. Ericsson 3 is the first casualty of the leg.

And on the water safety front, www.3news.co.nz/Video/CampbellLive/tabid/367/articleID/99808/cat/41/Default.aspx#video!click_here to see the you might like to take a look at NZ's TV3 report on the collision between a launch and trimaran yesterday. Fortunately all concerned were rescued and are safe. However it could have been a very different story - which we will follow in Sail-World.

Good sailing!
