Sail Mooloolaba 2014 is now open for business with the notice of race and on line entry now available. This year, Sail Mooloolaba has started on its way to becoming the premier multi discipline sailing event, if not the only multi discipline sailing event.

Sail Mooloolaba is an event not a regatta with six regattas within the one event over five weeks. From radio controlled yachts to sports boats, from laser dinghies to IRC thoroughbreds, and from cruising multihulls to match racing. All being run from the Mooloolaba Yacht Club and the Wharf Tavern. In fact you will be able to sit on the deck at the Tavern and watch the match racing, radio controlled yachts and some dinghy divisions over the course of the event.

Two national and one state title will also be up for grabs during the event with the SB20 sports boats holding their national title from the 13-15 June and the Australian Sports Boat Association running its second Winter Nationals Series at the same time. Over fifty sports boats racing off the beaches of Mooloolaba over three days.

The Yachting Queensland IRC QLD Titles will held as part of Sail Mooloolaba for the first time over the weekend of the 28-29 June bringing the cream of the blue water racing machines to Mooloolaba. First of the confirmed entries is Black Jack II which is the smaller of the two Black Jack yachts based on Brisbane - the harbour entrance is not deep enough for the 70 footer.

Match racing in the Mooloolaba Yacht Club Elliott 6 yachts will be held right in front of the Wharf Tavern with both a schools (3-4 July) and Open Division (21-22 June).

Radio Controlled Yachts will also be launching from the pontoon in front of the Wharf Tavern on the first of July and entertaining the lunch time crowd.

Off the beach dinghies wind up the regatta on the 5-6th of July with racing off the beach and also in the river to cater to all skill levels.

Sail Mooloolaba is a joint event involving four Sunshine Coast Clubs - Mooloolaba Yacht Club, Maroochy Sailing Club, Sunshine Coast Yacht Club, and Noosa Yacht and Rowing Club.

Sail Mooloolaba wants also to thank the local and national business’s that support the event and make all the fun possible.
