Southport Yacht Clubs Sailing Academy have recently been successful in their submission for the Queensland Governments $10,000 Get Going Grant.

The Grant is for 'conducting come and try sail days, provide training, accreditation and purchase equipment to support sail training at Hollywell.'

SYC are as a result, the proud owners of 3 more X3 Sail Training Dinghies to compliment their fleet of 5 pre-existing boats, to handle the bulk of their Sailing Academy students. The Sailing Academy will put approximately 4,000 kids through the X3 sailing dinghies alone this year!

The launching party Tues 9 July from 4pm to 5pm, at the Hollywell Sailing Squadron, 1 Marina Crescent, Hollywell is an opportunity to thank the Queensland Government who provided $10K to Southport Yacht Club’s Sailing Academy to increase Queenslanders participation in sport and recreation activities, as well as our Ladies Associate Committee and to SYC Members Ken and Noelene Tregeagle for generously donating the rest!
