Winter race, Royal Port Nicholson YC - August 2015 RPNYC Events
This Saturday – September 19th 2015 - the Royal Port Nicholson Yacht Club (RPNYC) celebrates the opening of its 133rd season.

As a part of its celebrations, the Club has organised a “Parade of Sail and Power” showing its diverse fleet to the people of Wellington.

Parade co-ordinator, Paul Davies, is thrilled to be able to showcase the many and diverse vessels that make up the RPNYC fleet.

“With the support of our friends and colleagues from the Wellington Harbourmaster’s Office, Coastguard and Maritime Police, we will be sailing or motoring around the inner harbour before we start our annual Opening Day Race”.

“We are also thrilled to have the Police Launch Lady Elizabeth IV leading our parade”.

The Parade is scheduled to begin at 12.30 on Saturday September 19th. The parade starts from the CentrePort container terminal and pass Shed 12 before heading past Frank Kitts Park before heading along the old Overseas Passenger Terminal and finishing by sailing past the RPNYC clubhouse on Oriental Parade.

The best viewing points will be anywhere along the Wellington waterfront, the Overseas Passenger Terminal – or of course outside the RPNYC itself.

For further information please contact Paul Davies, Parade Co-ordinator on 021 252 7882 or via email: ministryofsailing@gmail.com
