Over the last eight days Wild Oats XI has been testing and training on the water in her new configuration, with mostly light conditions ideal for the first week.
On Thursday and Friday last week she completed her qualifier, heading offshore in light airs, also completing crossover testing (establishing windspeed thresholds and crossovers between one sail and the next).
On Sunday the team dialled it up a notch, heading up the coast in a classic 20 knot nor’easter before smoking home under A sails.
Crosbie Lorimer of Bow Caddy Media was lucky enough to be on board, shooting video for the McConaghy Boats upcoming video of the Wild Oats XI rebuild. Look out for the video in the next week.
