Double Olympic gold medallist Shirley Robertson, Annie Lush and Lucy Macgregor are currently in Miami getting ready to compete against a top International field at the Rolex Miami OCR Regatta and Yngling World Championships.

Robertson, Lush and Macgregor, won a bronze medal at the World Championships in Cascais in July last year, but behind former teammates Sarah’s Ayton and Webb who won gold at the event and subsequently qualified for their place in Team GB at the 2008 Olympics.

“People may wonder why we are out here in Miami. Despite being away from the Olympic arena since last July, I still feel we have all the right ingredients to put us in a winning position at the World championships. I love the close compettive racing of the Yngling class and as a team felt we were cut off in our prime and we didn’t show our full potential,” explained Robertson

“Annie and Lucy are both very talented sailors with a great future ahead of them, and we want to keep sailing as a team as we’ve not ruled out campaigning for the London 2012 Games, but at the moment we’re just looking forward to getting back out racing”

JPMorgan Asset Management (JPMAM), one of the largest active investment managers in the world, has confirmed they will continue their sponsorship of Shirley Robertson and her Yngling crew. Shirley has been sponsored by the investment management company since 2006 and has recently had success helming their Extreme 40 campaign in the iShares Cup.

“JPMorgan Asset Management is delighted to extend its support for Team Shirley Robertson, Shirley will also continue her role as ambassador for JPMorgan’s world-class products. We wish the team the very best of luck inMiami, and we are delighted to see them back on the water, I know they will give their very best,” Campbell Fleming Head of UK, JPMorgan Asset Management.

Whilst Shirley will not be competing on the water in China, she will still have ringside seats to all the action as she will take up a new role as a BBC Olympic presenter covering the sailing in Qingdao.

In addition to their sponsorship of Olympic sailors Ben Ainslie and Shirley Robertson, JPMorgan Asset Management are the title sponsor the UK’s largest and most famous yacht race The Round the Island Race.
