Regional Boating Plans project launched by Transport for NSW

by Des Ryan on 3 Mar 2014
NSW sailors: Your home waters don’t have to be Sydney Harbour. If you go sailing in any one of eleven districts in NSW, this will affect YOU. SW
Transport for NSW has recently announced that Regional Boating Plans (RBP’s) will be developed for eleven distinct areas of NSW incorporating all navigable coastal, riverine and estuarine waterways in NSW.

These RBP’s will be pivotal to future boat access and storage strategy throughout NSW, as well as general waterway management including matters relating to boating safety, restrictions and infrastructure.

If this affects the waterway where you live you will want to be aware of the pending plans as they happen. Click here for a brief overview of the Regional Boating Plan project.

These plans are a major initiative. They have the potential to guide critical Government decision-making affecting all boaters in the years ahead.

According to the website, 'A comprehensive stakeholder engagement program has been developed to ensure we capture input from a variety of stakeholders ranging from high-level industry and stakeholder groups to everyday users of boating facilities.'

We encourage all leisure sailors to be in control of your own destiny - engage with the consultation process, and motivate others to do the same.

You can have input today via an online survey tool – Click here to visit the website and express your opinion.
