The 2011 Championships will be held from 9-15 April at Hayling Island Sailing Club, and look set to attract the top youth racers from around the country vying for top level competition, including those looking to earn selection to the RYA Volvo National Youth Squads.
Selection for RYA Volvo Team GBR – the team which will represent Great Britain at the ISAF Youth Sailing World Championship in Croatia this year – is also up for grabs, ensuring that competition will be highly charged.
Racing will be held for boys in Laser Standards, girls and boys in Laser Radials and Neil Pryde RS:X 8.5, and for all-boy, all-girl or mixed crews in 420s, 29ers and Spitfire catamarans.
'The RYA Volvo Youth National Championships is an absolute must in the calendar for any young sailor, but especially for those who are on or looking to become part of the RYA Volvo Youth programme,' said RYA Youth Racing Manager Duncan Truswell.
'The event provides a great opportunity for gaining experience of top class racing and tough competition – particularly for those sailors making the step up from the junior to youth classes – as well as providing a focus for squad and team selections.'
Entries for the Championships can be received up until midnight on Sunday 3 April – late entries will not be accepted.
