The RS600FF class has announced that it will be holding its first National Championships at Hayling Island Sailing Club this weekend - 18/19 October. After a summer of learning and practice it is finally time to find out for the class who is top banana in the foiling stakes.

There are some top names taking part – Alistair Richardson and Simon Hiscocks to name but a few. But will they be able to see off the challenge that ex-Moth National Champion Sam Pascoe will present?
Not to mention Alex Knight, who this summer was top Brit in 6th at the Weymouth International Moth Worlds. With his new boat, he must be a force to be reckoned with.
If you are at a loose end, come down to Hayling Island SC and watch the action. We will be sailing near the club so you will be able to see what’s happening. Bring your kit – if you are really keen to have a go it can be arranged.
And the class’ progress onwards does not stop next weekend. Next month sees the publication of the RS600-FF Boat Test for Y&Y which was performed by Simon Payne (2008 Moth National Champion).
This was extremely successful and Simon was foiling beautifully within seconds of jumping in the boat. A real tribute to his skill as well as well as to the boat and where it is in its development.
Next year the RS Association (of which the RS600FF is part) has organised a full racing circuit that will include a Nationals and joining the RS Eurocup event in Carnac.
We may well be sharing some events with the Moth class as there is a natural synergy between the two classes. Where we do share you can expect some of the most spectacular foiling action in the UK!
