Olympic Silver Medallist Luke Patience is set to compete in the RS200 Volvo Noble Marine UK National Championships 2014 this weekend.

British Sailing Team member, Luke Patience has just returned from the Olympic Sailing Test Event in Rio where he won a silver medal with sailing partner Elliott Willis. On his return to the UK, dedicated sailor Luke has decided to have a relaxing weekend doing what else but sailing.

Team Volvo sailor Luke Patience will be competing with Hannah MacAllister in the RS200 Volvo Noble Marine UK National Championships which takes place at Hayling Island Sailing Club 17 – 21 August.

Luke and Elliot are campaigning for an Olympic Gold in Rio 2016, this would be one better for Luke after his silver medal success in London 2012.

Luke is looking forward to unwinding a little and spending some time on the South Coast but certainly doesn’t intend to be too relaxed about the event.

Luke explains, 'We are under no illusions about the RS200 event. The class has a really good, competitive fleet, with some excellent sailors and there will plenty of close racing. This is a chance for us to have some fun and relax a little, but it will also really help hone my racing skills. We are really looking forward to Event website
