RC44 Cagliari Cup 2011. Paul Cayard on the fourth day of racing in Sardinia.
Paul:
Well, the good fortune of Katusha fell a bit today but Artemis Racing held up well with scores of 8, 3, 3 and now lies third in the regatta with 31 points.
The wind dropped considerably from the last two days. This made the racing much tighter. We got three races in before the wind dropped and became unstable enough for Principal Race Officer Peter Reggio to call it for the day.
On board Katusha, we struggled a bit in the traffic around the buoys. Still, even after a tough day, we slipped just one place in the standings to seventh.
Team Aqua continued to sail well with two more firsts before finishing the day with an 11th for 20 points and the lead. Islas Cannarias is sailing consistently well and is in second place just eight points ahead of Artemis.
Racing concludes tomorrow. The forecast has the sea breeze filling in so that should make it interesting as we haven't had that condition yet this week.
