Organisers of the upcoming Power, Sail & Paddle on-water event at Manly Harbour, Brisbane have reduced rates for exhibitors, in response to feedback from the industry and to allow access for more to participate in the inaugural event, 22 & 23 September.
Marine Queensland has significantly reduced the cost to participate in this event and cut the event back to two days in response to industry’s calls that there are too many shows in SEQ at this time of year. The organisation is meeting these calls whilst at the same time meeting our commitments to all key stakeholders involved in Power, Sail & Paddle.
'Power Sail & Paddle 2012 is all about growing participation in recreational marine activities,' says Marine Queensland Chief Executive, Don Jones.
'We have been inviting Brisbane boat dealers to bring boats for display with the intention of making these available for one water tests and demonstrations, to further sell the lifestyle,' explains Jones.
'We will have a line up on the Fishing Stage with talks and demonstrations plus we will be hosting the live weigh ins for the Humminbird Bream Tournament. In a first for the tournament the teams will be able to drive their boats right up to the weighing station and deliver the fish straight from the boat to the scales.'
There will also be kayaking and sailing demonstrations on the water.
Community groups and associations involved in this event include Coast Guard, Sailability and Yachting Queensland.
'There is a real focus on this event for interaction and participation – we want to make it as hands on an experience for the visitor as possible.'
