Perfect Paradise at the Queensland IRC State Championships

Today was the second day of racing for the XXXX Sail Paradise Regatta 2013, and wasn't it a beauty... The sun was out in full glory, it truly was a day in Paradise.

Although with light breezes, the Go to Blazers regatta was well underway with Southport Yacht Club Member Peter Pritchard in Riff-Raff obtaining three straight firsts, we will see tomorrow if he can obtain his lead and take out the Go to Blazers Champion for 2013!

The IRC Division's also had a brilliant three races, the race committee set fantastic courses that suited all the fleet, Black Jack, skippered by Mark Bradford is currently in first place for Division one in the Queensland IRC State Championships, closely followed by David Fuller sailing 'Vamp'. Division two has a very competitive fleet of five 40ft vessels, the leader of this division has changed both days with two winners, Blunderbuss and Alacrity. Southport Yacht Club's Mathew Percy, owner and skipper of Alacrity is currently leading in Division one.

The other divisions, including Performance Racing, Spinnaker and non-spinnaker, Off the Beach Cats and Cruising Multihulls also enjoyed the today's racing, with another day of perfect sailing conditions forecast for tomorrow's final day of racing.
