Competitors in this year's PIC Coastal Classic will have a chance to sail away with their stake of over $20,000-worth of prizes after the Labour Weekend yacht race.
This year's huge prize pool includes spot prizes of over $10,000 in value. A handful of lucky skippers will claim their share of these prizes in a random draw at the prize giving ceremony in the Bay of Islands, on Saturday 24 October, 2015.
A further $12,000-worth of prizes will be awarded to the top placing boats in the race's eight divisions, in which boats are grouped according to their type and size.
Prizes include thousands of dollars worth of marine clothing and safety gear, top of the range marine electronics equipment, an outboard motor, and a $1,000 travel voucher from title sponsors PIC Insurance Brokers.
The PIC Coastal Classic, which is now in its 33rd year, is the biggest yacht race in New Zealand, and frequently attracts fleets of over 150 boats.
