The Notice of Race, Entry Form and Class Rules for the inaugural One Ton Revisited event, in Auckland in February/March 2015, have been announced by organisers Royal New Zealand Yacht Squadron.

You should note that the entry fee includes the provision of eight boxed lunches per boat on every race day, and of 16 invites per boat to the pre-series cocktail party.
As of today, 10 March, 2014, we have received serious expressions of interest from 28 would-be entries and 2 would-be charterers. They are from NZ (12), Australia (4), UK (4), Sweden (2), Canada (2), the USA (2), Holland (1). Switzerland (1), France (1) and New Caledonia (1).

One Ton Revisited Class Rules 2014
1. All boats shall have a current IRC Certificate with a maximum rating of 1.110.
2. All boats shall have a Series Age Date prior to 1996.
3. All boats shall have a Hull Series Date prior to 1996 (Note: Any hull changes should be pre-agreed with the Rating Authority to ensure that modifications do not alter the boat's Hull Date. In general terms the hull shape shall be as originally designed although localised fairing of rating bumps and creases will be acceptable minor alterations)
4. All boats or a sistership shall have had an RORC Rating of 22ft or less from 1965, or an IOR Rating of 27.5ft or less from 1971, or an IOR Rating of 30.5ft or less from 1983.
5. For the purpose of the 2015 One Ton Revisited, all entrants will race as one fleet for which there will be overall points and prizes. There will also, however, be divisional results and prizes for the Classic Division (RORC Rating of 22ft or less), IOR 1 (IOR rating of 27.5ft or less), and IOR 2 (IOR Rating of 30.5ft or less).
6. The maximum number of crew shall be 6 for the Classic Division, 7 for IOR 1 and 8 for IOR 2, except in the case(s) of all-female crews which will be allowed an additional crew member.
7. Applications will be considered for 2015 One Ton Revisited entry for boats believed to have been genuine One Tonners but for which there is no proof of an RORC or IOR Rating. The Secretary will seek the guidance of the Royal Ocean Racing Club’s (RORC’s) Rating Office whose decision shall be final.
8. In order to preserve the heritage of the One Tonners from the early days, it is permitted to use the original sail designation and numbers. ie. K (GBR), I (ITA), F (FRA). The reasoning for this is that unless it is a class rule, ISAF require the new three letter designations.
9. Bow Sprits and Prodders are not allowed, either fixed or retractable unless originally designed prior to 1996. All spinnakers must be tacked down to the yacht’s spinnaker pole, except when hoisting, gybing, approaching the bottom mark and/or dropping the kite.
