Olympic Match Racing Support Video

In a little over a week the ISAF Executive Committee will be voting on the equipment for the 2016 Olympics. While the Elliott 6m was included on the initial slate approved a few months ago, there has been lots of discussion recently as to modifying the list of disciplines to accommodate other classes.

In May of 2010 the ISAF Olympic Commission delivered a report to the Executive Committee to strengthen the position of sailing in the Olympic Games. We feel that many of their recommendations are fulfilled with match racing and that match racing will prove its worth at the 2012 Games in London.

Please take the time to watch and share this video on why match racing should remain an Olympic discipline for the good of sailing in the Olympic games.

About CMRC: The Chicago Match Race Center was founded to promote and grow the sport of match race sailing. Besides being used in the America's Cup, match race sailing has recently also been adapted as a Women's discipline in the 2012 Olympic Games. As part of its mission to provide the highest-level match racing training facility for professional and amateur sailors in the US, CMRC sponsors and hosts the US Olympic Team with their fleet of Elliott 6M class boats, the type that will be used in the London Games.

Additionally, the CMRC retains a full fleet of TOM 28 class boats and all umpire and support boats needed to run international-caliber regattas, advanced training, or adventurous corporate outings.
