The world’s most compact Emergency Position Indicating Radio Beacon (EPIRB) made a big impact during a successful launch to the Australian market at the Sydney International Boat Show. Ocean Signal’s Category/Class 3 rescueME EPIRB1 impressed visitors at the five-day show.

Providing the boat’s essential link to emergency services, the rescueME EPIRB1 features a ground-breaking 30% reduction in size compared to other EPIRBs.

Ian Veitch, manager of distributor All Sat Communications, said: 'The Ocean Signal rescueME EPIRB1 received a lot of interest from day one and really made quite an impact. The public were very impressed with the size, look and features.

'The show also generated several reseller leads which will increase the Ocean Signal product range in the marine market. Many of our current retailers have also placed pre-orders after the EPIRB1 was made public.

'Overall, the show was very good and I am happy with the way it went. I feel that once the rescueME EPIRB1 hits the store shelves in the near future, sales will boom.'

Supplied with integrated GPS, the manually-activated rescueME EPIRB1 measures just 178mm (height with antenna stowed) by 89mm and weighs 422g. It meets the Category 3 requirements for the Australian market and has been developed specifically for this market.

On sale from October 2014, the Ocean Signal rescueME EPIRB1 will be distributed in Australia by All Sat Communications. For more information, please visit Ocean Signal or All Sat.
