Do you own a keel-boat between 30-40ft long, and feel like trying a new boom from Southern Spars?
Southern Spars is looking for one lucky owner to test out their new Coastal Furl boom and in return you will get to keep the boom.
The Coastal Furl is an all carbon furling boom for the 30-40 foot range with a price tag unheard of in the carbon market at only NZD $12,999 RRP. Next year there will be two more size ranges become available for yachts ranging from 40-70 foot.

The NZL Sailing Team winds down its European Championships campaign in this edition.
As mentioned in our last e-magazine, Peter Burling and Blair Tuke won the 49er European title quite easily.
It was not the same for the Women's 49erFX crew of Alex Maloney and Molly Meech who got off to a bad start in the regatta and pulled up well in the tail of the regatta. They lost form on the Final Day, and just weren't able to consolidate their lead.
They were relegated to third after they finished tied on points with the second placed crew.

In this edition, we feature another in their Red Bull blog, as we follow Meech and Maloney to the 2016 Olympics. Today's blog is a nice piece of self-analysis and well worth the read.
As well, we also feature the reports from the Final day of the 49er Europeans.
New Zealand will emerge from the European Championships round with the three Kiwi World Champions all in the top three.
For the other classes, some work is required, but this is a crucial year in the Olympic cycle and crews need to get on a roll, as with the passing of time their task becomes much harder as other crews lift to the required standard.

The ISAF Youth Worlds have got underway in Portugal.
New Zealand crews have made a good start in two classes with the 29er crew winning the first race and finishing the day in third place on the points table.
The SL16 crew are lying fourth overall in the Youth Worlds multihull.
Below that the crews are all in double place figures on the points table, and have a steep hill to climb for the rest of the regatta.
We will be carrying daily reports from Portugal, along with some great images if today's crop is anything to go by.

In France, New Zealand crews are competing in the French Nationals in the 420 class, as a warm-up to the Worlds which get underway in Travemunde, Germany, next week.
Rob Burn provides his usual great report on the team's performance, the off the water action and the tribulations of being a parent/supporter/coach and general gofer on these expeditions.
There's plenty of other news stories in this edition, including your invitation to the launch of the AON 18fter on Saturday afternoon, the Elliott 5.9 Travellers Trophy, and the release of the latest OK Dinghy rankings headed by NZ's Greg Wilcox.
And there is a significant development in the Volvo Ocean Race.
