After winning at the 2013 ISAF Sailing World Cup last week in Melbourne, 19 year old German Florian Gruber, and the current Kiteracing World Champion won the Kiteracing Oceanic Championships 2013 in Fremantle.

Second was 16-year-old current European Champion, Olly Bridge (GBR) claimed second place, while Italy's Riccardo Leccese, who was second in Melbourne third in Freo. Interestingly Western Australian Torvar Mirsky, the talented ISAF World Match Racer finished in the top ten.

An impressive win by Karl Kwok's Beau Geste team in the 52 foot regatta. And an interesting time for Rob Hanna's TP52 Shogun V dismasted off Palm Beach on Sydney's Northern Beaches on Saturday.

Interesting too to contemplate that Rise and Rise of China, who are impressing on the RS: X scene, while they will be gaining more VOR experience aboard. With ever growing interest at media level, the Chinese push into sailing continues to grow. By the time of the 2020 Olympics in Japan, they could be a very serious player.
