We have uploaded more vision from SIBS 2013 - a slew of interviews with high profile industry identities, with their accompanying stories about new launches, initiatives and anticipated programs, boat launches and marketing strategies for the rest of 2013, into 2014. We have lots more interviews from SIBS to come
In the US too, the NMMA is reporting a 10% increase in powerboat sales for 2012, and an expected rise of about the same for this year, heralding an exit from 'anemic sales' of the past five or so years.

NMMA President and great friend of the Aussie industry, Thom Dammrich stated: 'In 2012, the boating industry bounced back from probably the longest downturn it has experienced in four or five decades'. And surely, when the US recovers, Australia is not far behind.
Looking forward, boating brands and dealers are already planning their strategies and releases for Mandurah, Melbourne Summer Show and the Gold Coast City Expo - all great impetus for pre-summer sales. We cover some of the plans of these boat shows, as well as international fixtures like Cannes, Monaco, IBEx and METS.

|Flamingo Bay Adventure Ship Jeni Bone|
Scheduled for Monday 7 October on Queensland's Gold Coast is the auction of the RV Flamingo Bay, a superb feat of engineering and a one of a kind adventure ship 'Built to Rescue, Converted to Explore' as her owner states.
Originally built for the Belgian government as an ice breaking rescue ship purchased and brought to Australia to be modernized and upgrade and into USL 2B survey for 20. Captain and owner, David Tomlinson has done an incredible job restoring and modernizing this piece of maritime history.

I have been onboard this unique vessel, moored at Southport Yacht Club, and wish I could get a consortium together to own her for ourselves! But really, she deserves an owner who is as intrepid as she has been, values her history and embraces the future potential for another 50 years of adventures at sea.
Check her out here: www.adventureshipauction.com pass on the information to people who may be keen, and maybe see you at the auction?
