If you are were an online news editor an you were receiving 30+ press releases a day, which ones would you pay attention to? Probably those that were easiest to post to your news website, right? We get some pretty weird s**t through the mailbox, believe me! The worst ones are pdf documents accompanied by a breathless “look what a beautiful press release I have sent you!”

Sorry, no dice. Have you ever tried to extract the text from a pdf and paste it into another text field? The formatting screws up. Really.

So if your Club had a really five star event on the water last weekend, and if you think that your title sponsor might like a bit of exposure – just send us plain text email with a couple of jpg attachments, the same day as the event. Not a pdf, and two weeks later. Or even better, upload it through the 'News Events & Pics' button on the home page of www.sail-world.com/asia
