1.1 Helping Those in Danger
A boat or competitor shall give all possible help to any person or vessel in danger.

In spite of the frequent comments that appear in the sailing press - not restricted to Sail-World - about junior sailors over-zealous conduct on the race course, accusations of cheating, over-emphasis on winning, heavy-duty coaching and the like, all is not lost in the Philippines. Please read the story - 'Winning isn't everything. Really'. Just the thought of young Janno Dalanon pulling Rex Puentespina into an Oppie is guaranteed to raise a smile!

Last year Sail-World recorded 2.4 million unique viewers, worldwide. We are rather proud of that figure. We believe that it makes us the most-read sailing news website, anywhere. Vendee Globe - The closest finish in Race history? + Video

In the Vendee Globe, Armel Le Cléac'h (Banque Populaire) continues to close on Francois Gabart (Macif) as they slow in the Azores high. If the race continues as forecast, always easier on paper, Gabart will cross the line first late on January 26 or in the early hours of January 27 and could be as little as six hours ahead of Le Cléac'h, which would be the closest finish in Vendée history....
