Sail-World New Zealand: September 29, 2012
 | | Olympic Gold medalists, Olivia Powrie and Jo Aleh at the 2012 Auckland On the Water Boat Show Richard Gladwell | Welcome to Sail-World.com's New Zealand newsletter for September 29, 2012
The Auckland On the Water Boat Show is in full swing at Auckland's Viaduct Harbour.
Today, Saturday, was blessed with some great weather - for most of the day - the ambiance was definitely that summer was on the way, and this Show was the way to start.
This morning the queues were waiting at the door of the Viaduct Events Centre, and surged through the pavilions of exhibits and on the water displays.
At lunchtime (between 12.00pm to 2.00pm), 2102 Olympic Gold Medalists were at the Boat Show posing for photographs with fans, young and old - and with their Medals being hung around some new necks.
Attendance at the Auckland On the Water Boat Show has been comparable with last year, for the first two days. As we go to air today's numbers are not available but there is a very busy feeling about the show.
 | | A series of 350 still images linked into a video has been a major talking point on the Sail-World stand At the Auckland On the Water Boat Show. Richard Gladwell |
On the Sail-World stand, on Level 1 immediately above the main entrance, we have been running a video compiled from 350 still images of Emirates Team NZ's AC72 foiling her way through a Friday evening Rum Race.
For many this is their first glimpse of the AC72, which we are running alongside replays of the San Francisco round of the America's Cup World Series, from last month.
This video of the New Zealand AC72, will only be shown at the Auckland OWBS, and we don't intend to release it onto the wider YouTube audience. So stop by the Sail-World stand, and see the 40 second clip which is on continuous loop. It has been quite a talking point.
In this edition of Sail-World we have several stories and image galleries from the AOWBS.

There is only one day remaining, so get along - even if it is only for a couple of hours. The Show is well laid out and has a good flow from the entrances in Viaduct Harbour and off Quay Street. You will be able to see everything - it is just a matter of how quickly you walk.
There are around 200 exhibitors and over 40 floating exhibits - so it is essential to plan your visit a little without being too tedious.
Take a pen, pick up a program and plan what you want to see, and where it is located.
