Point of order: seeing as Portugal's border backs on to Spain, how do you sail around the country? As in 'MOD70 European Tour Leg 3 - Around Portugal Race'? Just thought I'd ask.

Maybe there is some sort of transforming equation here that I have missed, in which MOD70s can sail on dry land. It's a bit like trying to understand that space and time are not absolute and have to be combined into spacetime. In this case I guess it is accuracy and copywriting that are not absolute, and must be combined into pr-speak (which is, of course, absolute something).

Next up: the Around Lesotho Race. Watch this space.

PWA Cold Hawaii World Cup - Impressive battle on day 1

Vestas Sailrocket 2 project returns to Namibia

This September the Vestas Sailrocket 2 project will be returning to the waters of Walvis Bay in Namibia with a new hydrofoil package which they hope will bring them an outright world speed sailing record. The record currently stands at 55.65 knots (64 mph) and is held by American Kite Surfer Rob Douglas. Vestas Sailrocket 2 was built in the Vestas R+D facilities on the Isle of Wight... [more]
