Sydney results already, sailing Olympic gold, Facts: Google AnalyticsThe country's largest boat show has only just wound up and already many exhibitors are reporting their pleasure and satisfaction with this year's event - based on great numbers (though slightly down on last year) of motivated and enthusiastic boat buyers and in some cases hundreds of quality leads.

Congratulations to Bill Barry-Cotter founder of Maritimo and Stephen Vincent, MD at Austral Propeller Company, both winners of the prestigious Hall of Fame Award presented in Sydney last week.
Stand by, because there's a barrage of stories to come later in the week, including the industry address from Dusty McCoy, Brunswick Chairman and CEO, and several major launches.

Also this week, while some sports lament the lack of medals and champion athletes falling short of their previous personal bests, Australia's sailing contingent is still cheering in Weymouth with the Gold Medal (just our second) performance from Tom Slingsby, the 27-year old Laser master from Gosford in NSW.
His win propelled Australia from the mid-20s in rankings (oh the shame) up to a respectable 19th place, yet still behind NZ in 15th.
Even the PM, Julia Gillard got in to the sailing spirit, congratulating the new Aussie Olympic champ on his win on Twitter: 'Congratulations Tom Slingsby on gold in London. This is a win for all Aussies and especially for us rangas who think red is the new gold. JG'.
Now we just wait for the formalities of two other Aussie sailors, Nathan Outteridge and Iain Jensen who have an unassailable lead in the 49er skiff class, to take out the Gold on Wednesday.
Later this week, we will be speaking with marketing experts on how this medal win and the sailing success at the London Olympics, plus the media attention on the America's Cup and Sydney to Hobart flows on to benefit the broader marine industry.
