Offshore and inshore action—Sailing News from the U.S. and Beyond
The Extreme Sailing Series 2012 Act 4 is currently taking place in Porto, Portugal, with eight teams vying for top honors aboard their Extreme 40 catamarans. Currently, skipper Leigh McMillan and his The Wave, Muscat team are sitting in pole position after seven races that were contested in a strong breeze and big swells. 'We have had a good start but we need to not get carried away with today's results,' said a cautious McMillan. 'We have lot of races still to go in Porto including offshore racing and racing in this very small confined harbor here in Porto, so it is going to be very exciting but there are a lot of challenges. I think we can expect lots of action.' Conditions are expected to remain boisterous in Porto, so be sure to stay current with the website as news unfurls.
