The Hutchwilco New Zealand Boat Show begins Thursday at the ASB Showgrounds, Greenlane, Auckland
While this show has been notorious for not featuring too many 'blow-boats' the yachties are back in force at this years show - which it being the principal dinghy and small boat show.
Half of the Hall 6 (on the right as you enter the Greenland Road gate) is devoted to yachts from Optimists to 18fters. Then there is the Discover Boating Pavilion over the way and down a bit, which has more yachts again.
So if dinghy sailing is your thing, then get along to the Hutchwilco New Zealand Boat Show.
There's obviously plenty of powerboat, fishing, and diving exhibits for which this show is renowned, and the boat show sale items will be there again for the bargain hunters.

The World Championships for four of the Olympic classes are underway.
The Finns in Falmouth have been running for three days and are racing tonight (NZT) – so far it has been a very hard regatta with cold SW winds of up to 30kts battering the sailors. Our eyes at the regatta tell us that the fleet is very close for speed, and that the slightest error is punished with the loss of a handful of places, maybe more. Add in the big windshifts which have resulted in some big losses and gains, and you have the makings of a very testing regatta.
We have reports of the Finns, the Laser Radials and the 470 Mens and Womens World Championships in this edition of Sail-World.

While some will be quietly chuffed with the results to date – with three podium places from the world championships sailed to date, and with at least one more looking likely. But never forget that Australia went into the 2004 Olympic regatta with three reigning world champions in three events – and came away with absolutely nothing.

The Kiteboarding and Windsurfing for the 2016 Olympics debate continues, but seems to be losing its way a little over the last day or so.
