It's been a quiet few days for sailing in Asia, but there are stories here that spread the news net a great deal wider. The terrifying 'disappearance' of a yacht in the Ensenada Race, racing traditional 60' dhows in Dubai (that's sixty feet of very non-carbon, thoroughly chunky scantlings, traditional-build - heavy, man, and not to be messed with), and a hopeful little story from Singapore about a lad who just didn't give up. The Phuket Raceweek regatta has moved to a new home (congratulations on the relocation) and the Top of the Gulf is all set to be an even bigger success than ever before. Sail-World Asia will be at TOG next week, and we look forward to bringing you all the news that's fit to print, and a few pictures with some sunshine in 'em.

Teen overcomes horrific accident to win national title

Just five months ago, 16-year-old sailor Jonathan Yeo could not even walk after a cycling accident caused severe trauma to his spine. Doctors told his parents then that the teenager might never sail again. Phuket Raceweek 2012 announces dates
