A big sailing weekend with the Festival of Sails Australia Day Passage Race from Williamstown to Geelong tomorrow morning and the Sydney Harbour regatta tomorrow.

Tess Lloyd, the young injured 29er skipper is out of the medical induced coma and has taken a major step forward as she continues to recover from an accident on the final day of the 2012 Australian Youth Championships in Brisbane.

Its a stop start Volvo race, but at least the crews are back racing, with more than a fair share of Aussies, here are two of them.

Nathan Outteridge and Iain Jensen went back to the 49er roots sailing with Scott Babbage on the 18 footer Gotta Luv It Seven. The 18 footer scene is hotting up with the JJ Giltinan action ahead.

Etchells Worlds 2012 wide open for top players Tracey Johnstone, It's the main game for the Etchells class in 2012; the Etchells World Championship, to be held offshore of Sydney from the 16th to 25th February and and that game is wide open with defending world champion, Bill Hardesty, confirming last week that he will not be in Sydney to defend his title.
