 Finn battle hots up, Volvo fleet ready for leg 2 and more sailing news

All eyes are on Perth 2011 ISAF Sailing World Championships. The competition is hotting up as some classes head into their gold medal races while others are just beginning their competition.
Ben Ainslie (GBR) is back in the Finn lead after a few days of sitting in third. Finn Gold Cup leader for the past few days, Pieter Jan Postma (NED) has now dropped back to equal third.

The Volvo fleet is preparing for in-port racing ahead of the start of leg 2 from Cape Town to to Abu Dhabi on 11th December.
Puma Ocean Racing is back in the water after suffering a broken mast during leg 1 in a very remote location. Time was against them but the team managed some how to ready the boat for the in-port racing. And Camper with Emirates Team New Zealand have again survived a protest against their forestay set-up breaching Volvo Open 70 rules. This latest protest was lodged by Franck Cammas' Groupama and alleged that several aspects of Camper's forestay and rigging set-up over leg one were illegal. The Clipper Round the World yachts are facing challenging conditions on their current leg from New Zealand to Australia's Gold Coast, while the Global Ocean race's double-handed crews are reaching east on port in the Roaring Forties, some 1,800 miles from the Cape of Good Hope, Africa, and 2,600 miles from Cape Leeuwin at the south-western tip of Australia. Visit Finland, skippered by Olly Osborne currently leads by just six miles.
