BIA WA summer ads, 3rd party boating insurance? Coral Sea plan any dayThis is the life - planning summer holidays that will revolve around the beach, the lake, good food, friends and family. We are off to Tuross Heads for a few weeks of just that, complete with RIB, tinnie, rods and the camera to capture it all. That's the blissful reality for people who call themselves boaties and the spirit of summer that the BIA over West wants to deliver to TV audiences from now until March, in a campaign funded by members and sponsors.
It's a great initiative and one aimed at boosting the appeal of boating on the west coast.
Also this week, we look at industry response to the 'imminent' release of the Coral Sea draft plan - could be just a matter of 2 weeks away - and how it will impact on the fishing industry and broader marine industry.
There's also a feature on the concept of compulsory third party insurance for boaters, also eminating from WA, following a few tragic incidents on their waterways, and the insurance industry opinion, as well as those of a few BIAs and the WA department of transport. Most agree, adding a mandatory cost to boating would be one impediment the industry does not need.
Congratulations to Marine Queensland and exhibitors at the inaugural Sunshine Coast Marine Festival, which from feedback from those who attended was 'sensational'! The event was created to cater to demand in the region, and as a direct response to outcomes from the Marine Industry Summit earlier in the year.
Plenty more boating, fishing and industry news, so grab a cuppa (or a G&T if the heat is too much where you are), and catch up with the latest.
Pop by again soon as we are continually posting.
