The Volvo Ocean Race Village in Alicante has opened to the public as the crews and boats prepare for the start of the race on October 29.

Spain is certainly a busy place, as well as the VOR action, its hosting the Eurosaf High Performance Grand Prix on the Mar Menor just south of Alicante and the Extreme 40s in Almeria.

La Charente-Maritime Bahia Transat 6.50 leg 2 has commenced from Funchal. Sébastien Rogues leads the Prototypes and Benoît Mariette leads the Series after leg 1.

Meanwhile Halvard Mabire and Miranda Merron onboard Campagne de France lead the Global Ocean Race fleet towards the next scoring gate off Brazil as the Clipper Round the World Yachts battle extreme conditions.

In Turkey Alberto Rossi's Enfant Terrible (ITA) currently leads the Farr 40 European Championship.
