Sail-World New Zealand: 25 August 2011
 | | Emirates Team NZ's Camper unloads in Felixstowe (UK) Ian Roman/Volvo Ocean Race | Welcome to Sail-World.com's New Zealand newsletter for 25 August 2011
The sailing action is all international in this edition of Sail-World.
Over the Tasman, Hamilton Island race Week is in full swing, we have full reports and images from the event.
In San Francisco, three New Zealand crews are competing in the 18ft Skiff International. We have reports from Rich Roberts and other correspondents in California, plus some video coverage.
Moving over to England, Camper, Emirates Team NZ's entry in the Volvo Ocean race has arrived in Felixstowe, and has been unloaded. She will do a short tour of UK and Europe before arriving in Alicante, Spain for the race start on 5 November.

The Half Ton Cup continues in Cowes, aside from the former NZ World Champion Waverider, there are no NZ crews competing, however the images from the event are just superb. It is great to see the revival that started in the Quarter Tonners spread to the Half Tonners - and both fleets enjoy some fantastic racing - probably better then in their heyday. And certainly a lot more fun.
Down the coast in Plymouth, the America's Cup World Series is gearing up. We have a couple of stories in this edition. One from noted UK sailing journalist Andy Rice on the physical effort required to sail the new catamarans - and it is substantial. If you know anything about heart rate monitors - these are some impressive numbers indeed.

We also feature the first four episodes in the America's Cup World Series - Uncovered. These are a weekly magazine on the America's Cup and the behind the scenes action and activities. Running for about 23 minutes (a commercial half-hour in TV broadcast terms) each we'll be featuring these weekly in Sail-World.
In Spain the Region of Murcia Trophy is underway in the Audi MedCup TP52's. We have racing reports and images in this edition, plus there is a story with the live and replay player for the daily race action. There are no New Zealand entries in the event, but international interest is high in this premier monohull regatta.

From Hong Kong our Asian Editor Guy Nowell takes us a board Turanor PlanetSolar, which is on a world voyage using just solar power. Certainly she is an unusual craft, and we take you aboard her in this edition of Sail-World, plus some on the water images as she departs from Hong Kong.
