Industry forum Action Plan, Hanse 355 winner, Maritimo made in USAWelcome to another large week of news, updates and product launches.
The feature this week is an exclusive interview with Nik Parker, GM of the Boating Industries Alliance of Australia about the recent Crisis Forum held in Brisbane. The event was such a success, in terms of feedback and issues raised by the people who attended, the BIAA plans to host several similar around the country, all relying on your input.
An Action Plan will be released by the end of August, highlighting the priorities and direction.
We also have follow up stories on results from the Sydney International Boat Show, first news of the changes and additions to this year's 3rd annual China (Xiamen) International Boat Show to be held at Wuyuan Bay, 4-7 November and details of the lucky winner (ironically also from Manly) of the Hanse 355 yacht which was raffled off to raise much-needed funds for Bear Cottage Children's Hospice in Manly. What a way to finish off a day at the Sydney boat show - taking home a yacht!
Plus, a real shift in Aussie boat builder, Maritimo's direction, with a move of some of its prodution to the US. Bob Wonders spoke with Bill Barry-Cotter about the advantages and impact to the company of moving offshore.
These and plenty more in this week's batch, plus more every day. Come back regularly for all the freshest news and views.
Have a great week!Jeni Bone, editor
