America's Cup: Reality Check.

There are just six days left until the opening round of the America's Cup World Series, and nine until the proper racing, and there are rumblings. Mitch Booth is reported to have departed the China Team camp, and funding is rumoured to have become an issue for them as well as Team Korea. For sure the teams that will open the batting in Cascais are Oracle Racing (x2), Artemis Racing, ETNZ, Korea, Aleph, Energy and maybe the Green Com (but they haven't started putting their boat together, from what we hear). There will be a reality check for the new-look America's Cup programme on Monday 1 August when they all have to stump up the $100k entry fee. The soap opera continues. Watch this space.

Chicago Yacht Club asks US SAILING to review Mackinac 2011

Volvo Ocean Race - Telefonica qualifier halfway mark

Volvo Ocean Race 2011-12, Spanish boat 'Telefónica' has now completed over half of the 2,000 mile qualifier after setting off from Marina Rubicón on Monday. Volvo Ocean Race Atlantic qualifier begins for Team Telefónica

Volvo Ocean Race 2011-12 entrant Team Telefónica have now set out on their 2,000 mile Atlantic qualifier that is a requirement of the VOR rules. Iker Martínez and his crew departed their base in Lanzarote to begin the journey.
