Alliance united for industry, FindACrew world force, Boat Show surveyIt's a busy period for everybody. Melbourne International Boat Show ended on a high note, with reports of healthy sales and interest levels, though numbers marginally down on expectations. Now all sights are set on Sydney, which will be the venue for several national and world launches, as well as a hectic program of speakers, special guests, Awards, seminars and some surprises too.
This week, we look at the rise and rise of Australian-based global net resource, FindACrew.net, which links budding sailors with others in adventures and career opportunities. Kylie Gretener from NAUTYCAL, the company that owns both FindACrew.net and FindAHarbour.net, reveals the origins of the concept, and its current status as the world's largest 'point of introduction for people from all over the world of all walks of life' looking for adventure and travel in every corner of this wide world.
There's industry insight and an update from the Boating Industries Alliance Australia, new products, Ronstan's win in the recent Victoria Exporter of the Year Award and your opportunity to win $14,000 in prizes just by completing the online boat show survey.
Boat Shows need feedback, so this is your chance to not only tell organisers what you want to see, as a consumer or exhibitor, or both, and contribute to the evolution of such events, but you could also win for yourself and your family a HUGE prize pool consisting of: a trip for two people to Hayman Great Barrier Reef including airfares and some spending money, plus a ZODIAC Cadet RIB 260, a sturdy and spacious 2.6m three person tender with a light weight, compact Honda 5hp engine, six RFD Cyclone 150N life jackets, a Kannad 406 EPIRB, six sets of Liquid Image Camera Goggles, six sets of Barz Optics polarised sunglasses, a $500 voucher for Shock & Oar nautical apparel and four pairs of Sperry boat shoes.
