Skandia Sail for Gold battles loom and all the latest sailing news

Welcome to this week's edition of our Sail-World.com European newsletter.

Skandia Sail for Gold will test the skills of the world's best over the next few days. The ISAF Sailing World Cup series fifth leg commenced on the waters of Weymouth and Portland on Monday 6th June and will run until 11th June.

The Finn class will be just one of the fascination battles on the water - Ed Wright and Ben Ainslie will surely test the skills of Ivan Kljaovic Gaspic, Pieter-Jan Postma and Gasper Vincec, all of whom finished in the top five in Holland.

Team Gaebler have won the German Tornado Grand Prix, the Italian entry EUK II Monella Vagabonda helmed by Sandro Montefusco, is the new Platu 25 World Champion, the Gitana 11 crew have been busy setting a new reference time for the ArMen race and PWA World Cup Catalunya Costa Brava has concluded with Antoine Albeau taking the honours.
