 | | ExtremeSailing: Final day at Istanbul, Turkey Lloyd Images © | Welcome to Sail-World.com's New Zealand newsletter for 30 May 2011
The second round of the Extreme 40 series has concluded in in Istanbul, Turkey with a narrow loss for Emirates Team New Zealand in the final.
In this edition of Sail-World we feature the final two days of the event, including a commentary from skipper Dean Barker, courtesy of Nexus and Kiwi Yachting Consultants.
Also wrapping up overnight (NZT) was the final day of the fifth round of the ISAF World Cup, sailed in Medemblik.
New Zealand had two competitors in the medal races, winning the bronze medal in one event. Miranda Powrie performed well to make the cut for the Womens Singlehander (Laser Radial) class against some top competition.
From here the NZL Sailing Team head to Skandia Sail for Gold Regatta in Weymouth, which is the sixth event in the ISAF World Cup circuit.
