So many tales from the seven seas this week - from the curious to the irresponsible, from the adventurous to the heroic.
I loved the story of the sailor who refused to be rescued without his dog and defiantly jumped into the sea clutching him for the lift into a helicopter.
Another incident was a stark reminder of the dangers - two sailors had to jump for their lives from their burning yacht, luckily not far from shore.
Then there is the British sailor, his radio and mobile turned off, who caused a multi-station scramble as they searched for him, happily moored in a remote bay, but NOT where he said he was headed.
On a more serious note, one of the cruising sailors who were caught in the Maldives wanting to reach Europe tells a gripping tale of how they solved problems of disintegrating rallies and confusing information to finally cross through Somali pirate waters successfully.
Two books featured this week: Ted Danson's book 'Oceana' on the state of the Oceans, and sixteen-year-old Abby Sunderland's ghosted book on her rescue from the south Indian Ocean. Talking of teen sailors, read how Laura Dekker has embarked quietly on her second great ocean, the Pacific.
This week's product of the week is a mooring spring that will let you sleep well at night no matter how bad the weather, and if you want to be envious, read the blissful tale of 'Eye Candy', who have just started their summer cruising from Tunisia, heading for the Italian coastline.
