Sail Port Stephens 2011 – record fleet –entry deadline extended
Now in its fourth year, Sail Port Stephens is one of the fastest growing regattas in Australia, and organizers are expecting close to 130 boats this year, after a solid fleet of 83 in 2010.
With a host of cruising boats and SB3 dinghies still completing their entries, Regatta Director Denis Thompson this morning announced an extension of the entry cut off until 5pm on Wednesday afternoon.

Dom Grundy from the Organizing Authority the Corlette Point Sailing Association said that between 130 and 140 entries are expected across the week.
The first of two feeder races, the RPAYC's Pittwater to Newcastle race start this coming Saturday the 9th April and the NCYC's Newcastle to Port Stephens leg will see the fleet streaming into Port Stephens on Sunday the 10th of April.
The Commodores Cup begins next Monday – and will be sailed over three days on three picturesque Bay courses.
Thursday's lay day allows the Commodores Cup racers a day off, and the action then steps up for the Friday with the Yachting NSW IRC Championship and the Port Stephens Trophy featuring both racing and cruising divisions and the SB3 Australian titles.
