Farr 40 Worlds, Barcelona World Race and more great sailing news

Welcome to this week's Sail-World.com Europe newsletter.

The Farr 40 Worlds are underway in Sydney Australia and we have all the latest news and images from this championship. Dont miss Sail-World.com's blow by blow description of each day's racing. Virbac-Paprec 3 (Dick and Peyron) continues to lead the Barcelona World Race fleet, while MAPFRE (Martinez and Fernandez) and the rest of the fleet are chasing. The fleet will be facing the effects of Cyclone Atu, stay tuned for all the latest.

The RORC Caribbean 600 is underway, with George David's Rambler beating Mike Slade's ICAP Leopard and establishing a new race record in the process.

We have news and images from the Extreme Sailing Series in Oman and there is all the latest from the America's Cup, old and new. Be sure to catch our video footage from regattas past.

America's Cup: AC45 capsizes in Hauraki Gulf + Video

The prototype AC45 capsized on the Hauraki Gulf this afternoon, sustaining serious damage to her wingsail, however the platform would appear to be undamaged and there were no injuries to the crew save for wounded pride. The incident happened off Murray's Bay on Auckland's North Shore. Winds at the time were around 20kts and the AC45 had been sailing at speeds of up to 28.5kts.... [more]
